Think about features used to advertise cars today: sensors, early warning systems, auto drive systems, airbags, miles per charge . . . now, look at this ad from 1927.
Published for Beaverton, Hillsboro and Forest Grove, this advertises the Star Car company’s improved four cylinder engine.
- Star Car was a British car manufacturer.
- It promises to cut down the vibration from a 4 cylinder engine by insulating the motor mount with rubber. (!)
- Starting at $550! Gotta love inflation.
- Even at that price, it struggled to compete with the lower prices of mass-produced vehicles like those of Ford.
